Dr. Moore was head of percussion studies at The Ohio State University teaching percussion and directing the percussion ensemble.  He served as percussion instructor on the staff of the famed OSU Marching Band, an organization for which he wrote numerous percussion section solo features which were performed at major football bowl games, including two Rose Bowl/Parade appearances. Being a member of the Percussive Arts Society since its inception, Jim founded and edited for 18 years the society's official publication, the Percussive Notes Magazine. His percussion compositions and arrangements are published by Per-Mus Publications, Kendor Music, and Ludwig Music Publishing Company.
